the novel described four sisters in the march family; they were kind to each other and love each other, hardworking, stayed with neighbor laurence friendly. different disposition girls had found their own happy through their own goodness and industrious. the novel has not a fluctuation plot and fascinating suspension in a play, but the author described the happiness in march family with the simple language. their good and kind, loyalty to love and family has left me a deep impression. the author only described very ordinary detail in the life, but reveals the love to the happy life expectation everywhere.

although these girls born in a poor family, but they all had the positive attitude to any matter, the novel had laid emphasis on their individuality and the dignity, but also has displayed their self—expression restraint. independently was these four girls’s common characteristic, they always keep discovering their own shortcoming and correct it as soon as possible which worth our learning. look we, some people always make mistakes, but they always think that it is a small mistake; they don’t need to notice it, let it go. if every one like them, the society will become very awful, no rule can limit people’s behaviors, they can do anything they like.

i love meg for her being glad to impoverish for love, not enticed by the money. she did family teacher to help the family. i love jo for her free and easy, likes her for the steadfast determination which she struggles for dream. she earns living expenses with aunt march and writes articles for the newspaper to gain the payment to increase the daily necessities to the family. i love beth for her tranquil characteristic, doing anything without any complain. like her good personal character which always considers for others, she loves music and feels shy with strangers, so she always does some housework with her mother at home. i also love amy for her strong desire; she regard supporting the poor people as her own faith. she was interested in sketch. though their idea and the destiny are various, they had all found their own love.

in their eyes, the family was not only the place of growth but also the holy refuge. they liked to hear their mothers instruction carefully; they created games by their clever brain and hands which can beautify the mind. four sisters growth courses were as if an interest education poem. the author had shown us the humanitys great dear ones such as friendship and love with ordinary language. in my opinion, it will be the happiest matter if these four sisters can live with those who they love. they are all good person, if i can live with them, i think my left will become rich and colorful.

an old saying said that “three women can play a performance”, woman always have their own idea, if the idea has formed, and almost no one can change it. when women meet, if one talks her opinion about something, another one will give her opinion to the first one, then the argument will take place, let’s imagine, there were four women in one family, though they are sister, argument can’t avoid, it will be very interesting in the home.

from the novel, i have learned that we should keep hope for future and make great efforts to seek dream. i also have learned to cherish what you have had such as your parents, time and so on ,we should discover everyones merit but to take the colored eye to see others shortcoming.

寒假期间,我读了《怎样成为一名优秀的英语教师》这本书感受颇深。本书从始至终贯穿一条主旨就是:要实现有效教学,人力资源胜过技术资源。而且书中特别强调,教师所能利用和开发的最重要的人力资源就是自己的个人品质或素养。做一名优秀的教师应该具备的一些素质及条件,对这一点我作了以下几个思考。

第一、必须具有良好的道德品质和人格魅力,热爱教育事业,热爱本职工作,具有奉献精神,具有强烈的责任感、事业心。这是职业道德要求,一名教师专业能力再强,如果思想上有问题,责任感不强,不喜欢学生,甚至道德品质有问题,他也不可能成为一名优秀的教师。

第二、必须具有系统而全面的教育学、心理学知识,具有较强的教学能力,懂得不同年龄段学生的身心特点,能运用合理的教学方法,使学生得到最大限度的发展。这是教师职业的要求,一名教师虽然有较高的专业水平,也有满腔的教学热情,但如果不懂得教育教学规律,其必然会走“弯路”,当然离优秀就还有一段距离了。

第三、必须具备广博的文化知识和其它艺术学科基础知识,英语教师除了具备本专业的知识技能外,必须尽力扩宽其它基础知识的掌握面,以及了解其他学科基本知识技能,并能综合运用它们进行教学,在广泛的文化情景中对学生进行教育,陶冶学生的情操,提高学生的素质。这是现代教育的时代要求。

花了五周断断续续看完了这本《中式英语之鉴》,在理解单词意义的情况下,其实这本书不能称为晦涩难懂,事实上,这本书的整体结构和框架都指向了通俗。本书一共分为unnecessary words和sentence structure两部分,共十三小节,每一个小节是一种错误的小类型,作者在每一个小节下再具体区分不同的错误,然后给出修改建议和众多实例以供练习。从这个结构看,其实这本书更像是一本汉译英的练习册,作者手把手的提出问题,再教读者如何改正。

这本书文字的意义我可以理解,但是我看完这本书之后最大的感受其实不在于翻译本身,而在于对语言的理解。通过作者所列举的这些汉译英操作上的错误,包括我曾经看过很多英译汉的文学作品,那些英译汉的文学作品当然是由非常著名的译者进行翻译的,可以说大体上兼顾了艺术性、美感和可读性,但是实际上,我看那些翻译成中文的国外作品时,其语言虽然可以被我接受,但是实际上,一旦我在脑海中将这些作品与纯正的中文书籍进行对比,那种显著的差异性便会立刻彰显出来。不仅仅是英译汉作品,俄译汉、日译汉作品与纯正的中文书籍之间的差异也十分明显。这些不同语言翻译成中文的译本,仍旧带有非常明显的各自语言的特色,这使得他们即使在书面上显示为汉字,其背后仍旧是各自不同的语言逻辑与体系。按照福柯等人的理论,其实我明白语言影响着思维和逻辑,不同的语言框架下,思维以不同的组织方式和叙事习惯输出为文字,而文字的字里行间都埋伏着各自语言的风格。而优秀的外文作品之所以优秀,很大程度上也离不开各自的语境。所以我觉得不是外文作品不能被完完全全赋予中文的叙事方式,而是优秀的译者一定留意到了这一点,并刻意的保留原著的思维走向与叙事方式。

我说这个的原因,是因为我发现其实很多作者认为的中式英语所出现的失误,很多也是受到了中文语境和叙事方式的干扰,翻译者将这种叙事方式和习惯带入到了汉译英的成品当中,故而导致地道的外国人觉得这种翻译不够地道。例如:the prolongation of the existence of this temple is due to the solidity of its construction。在作者看来这种句子时冗杂繁复的,她觉得其实不就是:this temple has endured because it was solidly built。但是根据作者的职业,其实本书中的很多句子都是摘录自中国的官方新闻,我仔细回想了一下我看过的为数不多的中文官方报道,无一例外都是有着浓重的新闻腔,使人一看就是官方报道。那么在中文中就有这样的情况,为什么在翻译成英文的过程中,这种叙述方式不能被保留呢?保留了会不会更加符合中国新闻的特色?所以我自己认为作者在这本书中有一点矫枉过正之嫌。

但是不得不承认的是,作者所给出大部分的翻译写作意见是非常犀利和正确的,我在看的过程中就发现很多作者所列举的错误,正是我在进行英语作文写作中常常犯的错误,比如我很喜欢在可数名词已经加s的情况下,在前面使用“a lot of”、“a large number of ”、“plenty of”这些短语,现在看来,也是受母语影响太深。

说回这本书,这本书的第一部分讲词汇的冗杂,主要讲了名词、动词、修饰语的冗杂和重复以及话语的重复和对事物的过度阐释。第二部分讲英语的遣词造句,这一部分主要讲了抽象名词、代词和先行词、连接词的使用以及句子的内在构造。我印象比较深的是作者讲述了英语的语言演变。在英语中,因为有些形容词和副词以及短语被太过频繁的使用(如作者所列举的conscientiously、diligently、make a great efforts to 、do a good job in),所以导致这些词语逐渐失去了他们所应有的力量但偏偏这些词汇又是入门级词汇,是最容易被拿来使用的,所以翻译者在进行汉译英或者英文写作的过程中,他们所选择的那些意义语法正确的词汇和短语,很多时候在英语这门语言中其实已经丧失了它们本来具有的力量,所以使用它们并不能真实有力的传达文本本身所携带的力量,也就不能达到翻译的目的。我觉得如果要克服这种僵化,最好的方式就是不能书面化的学习英语,而要充分的融入进英语的世界,时刻了解英文的最新动向,而不是只跟着书本学习。但是好像我们的教育并不注重从这个方面培养我们,我们学到的大部分只是教材中的英语,即使语法正确,与当下时兴的地道英文之间,仍然有着不可跨越的鸿沟。当然针对以上情况,作者也给出了相应的应对之策。

还有一个比较重要的问题,是“logical connectives”的问题。对比中英文,我们不难发现,英文的确更加依赖逻辑连词的使用,这是英文中表达逻辑顺序的主要手段,作者的原话是:“they contribute a great deal to its meaning。 they show how the thought or action expressed in the given sentence is related to the thought or action in the preceding one。”。因为我现在在韩国实习,对韩语的'一个非常直观的感受就是,韩语十分依赖于“”这个连词,它的意思是那么,平常韩国人说话,这个词的使用频率达到了两句一个,或者每一句一个的变态程度。但是,当我们需要将韩语翻译成中文的时候,显然我们不用需要使用那么多“那么”,一旦对韩语进行直翻,在翻译好的汉语中也出现很多“那么”,那将会是一个非常可笑的情况。同样的,在进行汉译英的过程中,我们也要遵守英语的规则,充分的使用逻辑连词,以便于意义更加清楚。

其实碍于自己英文水平有限,对本书的理解和认识其实是非常浅显的,但是这本书确实给我提供了一种好的思路,不仅是翻译方面的思路,更是英语学习的一种思路,即并不是我们学到的,语法正确的句子就是对的,要把语言当作一种语言来学习,而不是当作一门知识来死记硬背。
