book review of wuthering heights wuthering heights is a famous book written by emily bronte. emily is one of the outstanding poets in 19th-century. in 1819, emily bronte was born in a poor priest family, her father pater rick brandt is an irish priest, and her mother gave birth to six children. the bronte sisters, two daughters and a son. because of the family backgrounds, emily was borned to be independent, open-minded, pure, and introverted.

"wuthering heights" is one of the works of emily bronte, also is one of the masterpieces in the 19th century of british literature. this is a story of love and revenge. "wuthering heights" is written by the time span of thirty years, describes a complex emotional relationships of two generations between the earnshaw family and linton family.

the whole novel can be divided into four parts. the first phase describes the daily life of heathcliff and catherines childhood, their special affection is formed in this particular environment as well as their revolt against the tyrannical hindley. the second phase focuses on the catherine pursuit of the traditional of human love and betrayed heathcliff and she became the mistress of thrush. she admitted to donnelly that her love to linton who is young, handsome man. he loves her as well as her wealth, let her to become the most distinguished woman. catherine has said: "in my heart and soul, i clearly know i was wrong." because she also loves heathcliff. the third stage use a large pen and ink describing

that heathcliff’s revenge. the last part of novel is the death of heathcliff, but revealed a new change in the thinking experience - the recovery of humanity when he understood the love between hareton and catherine so we can see a bunch a hope in the tragic love story.

in the novel, all of the authors effort was to create the image of heathcliff where she pinned all her indignation, compassion and ideals. this orphan has been deprived all of the warmth of human, hendry’s hit let him tasted the cruel of life, also he knows that his gave up to life can not change the fate of their own humiliation. he chose to resist. catherine had been his loyal partners. however, catherine finally betrayed heathcliff, married edgar linton. this is her own choice between the loves. at the end of the book, there are three tombs on the fields, the linton tomb, the heathcliff, the middle is catherines tomb. catherines betrayal of their marriage and miserable fate is the most significant turning point in the book. catherine’s death is the objective of heathcliff. his revenge not only let hendry and edgar died miserable, but also made the next generation to suffer the bitter pills. this crazy revenge is ueasonable but vividly expressed the hate and love. in the minds of women writers, love and hate is opposition but can be transformed into each other. therefore, love and hate are opposite to each other, but also with each otheruniform.

undeniable, heathcliff and catherine loved each others but they alllost themselves in the love relationships. catherine married linton because of vanity, heathcliff thought that he had been betrayed and began to crazy avenges. their love is the most wonderful part of the novel also the source of the tragic.

i want to use one sentence to conclude the whole novel, it could be that everyone made their wrong choice in a wrong time and eventually made the tragic life, everyone regretted in the end of their life and let the next generations to suffer. we all know that the ending can’t be revolted but we’d like to see that everyone has struggled for love and happiness.

if we never possess anything， we will not mind we lost some thing. since we don’t want to be very rich ，we will not feel despond because poor.

the protagonist of this novel is pip (handel). his parents died when he was a baby. his sister had brought him up ‘by hand’. his sister married to joe gargery， the village blacksmith. they didn’t have much money， and pip never went to school to study. but he was often very happy .because all of his friends are like him. it isn’t very unfortunate to them， this is their lives. but by a chance， pip helped a convict; he gave much food to him. then he met miss havisham， a very strange old woman and she was very rich.

four years later， miss havisham wants pip to be removed from his home and educated as a gentleman who expects inherit a fortune when he grow up.

after hearing that . pip started to despise his poor friends. he even feel ashamed because he live with the poor man . pip’s ‘great expectations’ destroyed his life.

this novel told us that we cannot pare with others .don’t feel envy at the others money. and if one day you be very rich ， please don’t despise your poor friends.

it tells of a love stor between elizabeth and darcy as well as elizabeth’s sister. it consists of 42 chapters in all. mr. darcy is the hero who is rich and proud. elizabeth is the second daughter while jane is the first daughter.

everything starts with bingley’s arrival. when mrs.bennet hear bingley has bought a house near her home .the mother of four daughters is so happy and conceived that one of her daughters will beome his wife. fortunately, bingley and jane met at an evening dancing party and they soon fell in love with each other. however,darcy, bingley’s best friend , was also attracted byelizabeth’fascination but darcy rudeness and pride toward elizabethe greatly annoyed her and her impression for darcy was even worsened by wickham, a military officer she met who claimed to have grown up with darcy. what was worse bingley’s two sisters deliberately separated bingley and jane.

and elizabether turned dowm the marriage proposal from her cousin, collins, who will inherit all the properties when her father died. when darcy sent elizabeth a letter to tell the truth and reveal the wicked wickham rumours about him.

elizabeth changed her thoughts and finally found herself deeply in love with him. when she visited her uncle and aunt in northern england, she encountered darcy found him to be almost perfect, gentle and no longer proud any more,they eventually married and also brought bingley and jane altogher.

just like darcy propose marriage to elizabeth in spite of her scarcity of property and social status, but is rejected by elizabeth for his pride and weaknesses.as long as either side’s pride existed ， no love can be seeked. and eiter side should try to find the other’s virtues and variations towards a good will.in the novel ,when elizabeth found darcy is no longer proud she finally engaged with him and lived a happy marriage.

in order to give her husband an exquisite watch chain, della sold her beautiful hair though his husband james loved it. james realized that della had worshipped long for the set of combs, side and back, in broadway window, he also sold his valuable watch which belonged his grandparents. della’s hair and james’ gold watch is the most precious property which in this poor family. in order to expresses the deep sincere love to the spouse, all of them had lost these two at the christmas eve. happiness in a twinkling had paid the expensive price, but following is the deep pain. after consider the true life ,o henry had screened the main plot carefully, made this ordinary theme bright again, gold watch and beautiful hair are the great wealth for the poor family which gain 20 dollar per week, this regret brought astringent feeling, caused each reader’s heart to tremble. this is condensing the real contradiction which the social real life is unable to solve multiplies really because of the writer deep style of writing, cause reader"s pitying with the sympathy, and lead them to a more profound ponder. for a while sentimental impulse della and james had extremely sacrificed most precious thing for each other. in those only money all-powerful societies, their gift can not regard as wisdom, they lost wealth, but they deepened the precious sincere love. in love and in wealth contradiction they have sacrificed the latter.
